Context

Inspired by the 1st century AD Cave canem Roman mosaic at the entrance to the House of the Tragic Poet in Pompeii, Italy, the Historical Humaning Archive is a passion project documenting historical artifacts that feel pertinently human.

Despite our differences across different cultures, times, and societies, people have not changed that much. Some things are foundationally still the same. The archive currently features the themes of play, love, and gathering, amongst others.
