Through a process of digital fabrication and hand-molding, this project exercises a weak point in present day digital manufacturing: that the opportunity to understand material is lost to the hands.

Premise

This display was formed distinctly through two processes: 3D Printing and then hand-molding with hot water. Through these two processes, the goal was to juxtapose very different methods of making with a singular result: a personalized display for a single object.
